Our days of prominence as a leading manufacturing power has given way to a society based on consumption. Our needs our met by other manufacturing centers around the world like China. Because businesses chase cheaper labor, Western world job creation is almost non existent. As a result our wealth has migrated to other countries that do more producing than consuming.
Over the years most of the Western world has taken on deadly amounts of debt and deficits. Every economic bubble has come and gone with the emergence of a new bubble. First there was the dot com bubble, then the housing bubble. Now we are traveling at light speed towards a cliff with what we’ll be known as the currency bubble.
The printing presses for money don’t seem to stop. Yet, most Americans believe everything is going to be just fine. The problem with most Americans is that they don’t study history or economics, they simply believe everything they see on television. Well the truth is that the problem has grown to epic proportions. The mushrooming debt and unfunded liabilities our swelling.
Where is the job creation in America, Europe or Australia? Well it’s not coming from real estate, banking or manufacturing. The U.S. Dollar is falling and every currency in the world is on a fiat system; meaning it’s not backed by gold.
With a vast majority of assets having been wiped out or severely discounted, we find ourselves in a precarious situation as Baby-boomers. What does someone do that is in their 40’s, 50’s, 60’s and above who is facing financial uncertainty?
Some of the best opportunities emerging within the new economy are self employment and marketing via the internet. The economy has turned global and if you fail to take notice you are risking more than you know.
The bad news is the good news for smart entrepreneurs. It is possible to outsource a wide range of tasks that can provide your business with unprecedented levels of leverage.
